Application – Speakers‘ Night 2026

The annual Speakers‘ Night is a  public speaking contest for scholarship holders at the European Forum Alpbach. For 20 years, Club Alpbach Steiermark has organized the event as a platform for bright young minds to showcase their rhetorical skills on the big stage. This provides the ideal opportunity for YOU to present your ideas and perspectives to a larger audience while receiving valuable feedback from a distinguished panel of jurors.

The theme of this year’s edition is:

Legacies in Transition

Scholarship holders interested in entering the contest as a speaker are invited to submit their speech proposal on the above topic by filling out the application form below until:

Thursday, 27 August at 21:00 (9:00 p.m.)

Applicants selected for participation will be notified shortly thereafter and will have the opportunity to attend a preparatory workshop on Monday, 31 August from 13:00 to 15:00 noon. There they will also receive additional information about the event.

The three-minute speeches are delivered live on stage at the 20th annual Speakers’ Night on Thursday, 3 September, at 20:00 (8:00 p.m.), where a panel of judges will assess the contestants’ performances and select a winner. As a speaker, please make sure to be ready at 19:30 (7:30 p.m.) 

Anyone who prefers to attend the event as a spectator can participate nonetheless by casting a vote for their favorite speech in the Alpbach Audience Award.
